Communicating with Insurance Clients

As an insurance agent you should be very interested in repeat business. After all, repeat business will definitely help to increase your sales. For instance, if somebody purchased home insurance from you last year, you may want to sell them an automobile policy as well. Of course, this will take some selling skills on your end.

Staying in touch with current clients is the best way to hit them up for repeat business. The question is: how are you going to stay in touch? First and foremost, you should always follow up via email if a customer gives you permission to do so. This way you can stay fresh in their mind at all times.

Additionally, sending out direct mail is a great idea as well. When you communicate this way you can once again keep your name in front of clients. If you are going to send direct mail you should concentrate on keeping your costs down, but also sending flyers that are going to be advantageous to your situation.

While there is nothing wrong with calling prospective buyers, you may not want to do this with current clients. After all, they already purchased from you, and may not take too kindly to the phone calls.

Overall, communication is the key to repeat business in the insurance industry.
