Closing a Life Insurance Lead
Even if you have plenty of life insurance leads to call on, you are not quite done with the process. The next step that you will have to take is actually closing the lead, and in turn making a sale. After all, if you do not make a sale you are not really going to benefit from receiving the initial lead. This is especially true if you are an agent who only gets paid when a policy is sold.
The most important part of closing a life insurance lead is to listen to what the interested party is telling you. Instead of preaching to them, you should listen and learn. Ask them what they want, what they need, and any other inquiring questions that may be able to help you out. The fact of the matter is that the more personable you are with an interested buyer the better chance you will have of turning the lead into a sale.
Additionally, do not forget to be aggressive. So many life insurance agents miss out on sales because they are afraid to ask for the final go ahead to start the policy. Sure, you may get shot down but you will never know until you ask. Just make sure that you know the difference between being aggressive and being obnoxious. You do not want to get a reputation for being a life insurance agent that does nothing more than push people into buying a policy that they do not need.
Closing a life insurance lead is something that will come with experience. Early on in your career you may have a hard time with this. But as you become more experienced you will start to close out more and more sales. In the end, this experience will pay off not only in sales but also in the amount of profits that you make.
